Cowes, Isle of Wight
Cowes needs little introduction, home to the Skandia Life
Cowes Week regatta every year, and widely accepted as the
home of yachting. Cowes is at the north of the Island, and
is split into two halves by the River Medina. The Floating
Bridge provides regular crossings for foot passengers and
cars betwwen East Cowes and West Cowes. West Cowes houses
several of the Island yacht clubs. East Cowes is the home
of Osbourne House, Queen Victoria's favourite residence.
